Editing Highlights 2014-2025

Trader Joe’s 3- part investigative series (Fast Company, 2025)

A 6-month investigation that exposed food and worker safety, patterns of cover up of harassment and misconduct, an elaborate branding scheme, misleading environmental claims and more.

Queer 50/Queer Changemakers (Fast Company, 2020-2025)

Annual list profiling queer women and nonbinary leaders across industries such as Reddit’s Jen Wong, NBC’s Liz Jenkins, Massachusetts governor Maura Healey, Tracy Chapman, and hundreds more.

CEO Pay Equity Report.(Fast Company, 2023)

A package of stories that took a deep data dive into the compensation of CEOs at more than 2,000 companies—and how it compared to their employees.

Affirmative Action Series (Fast Company, 2023)

Before SCOTUS ruled on Affirmative Action in June 2023, I sent reporters out across the country to report from three of the eight states (Michigan, Oklahoma, and New Hampshire) that had already banned Affirmative Action years before to explain how the ruling would impact not just higher education but public and private sector jobs too.

The Business Case for Abortion Access (Fast Company, 2022)

In anticipation of the SCOTUS decision on Roe v Wade in June 2022,  Fast Company reporters reached out to nearly 200 major companies to solicit feedback about how businesses view abortion access, the policies they have in place around abortion care, and how they would respond to the fall of Roe v. Wade. The result was this timely data-rich package.

Reinventing Education (Fast Company, 2020)

As a new school year began with many schools across the country in pandemic shut down, this 5-story package and podcast mini-series was among the first to explore the issue from several angles: how teachers were dealing with it, public and private solutions for working parents, the how tech was helping and failing, and how to realistically mitigate health concerns. (The series was later turned into ongoing education coverage)

Short Changed (Fast Company, 2019)
A 5-story digital package about the gender pay gap including first person accounts from a nurse who watched her male colleagues earn more and a CEO who fixed the gender pay gap at his company.

I’m 14, and I quit social media after discovering what was posted about me

(Fast Company, 2019)

I found and worked with a middle school student to write this viral essay for a series of stories about digital privacy.

Women On Sexism In Silicon Valley (Fast Company, 2017)

I had been covering sexism in the workplace in general and Silicon Valley in particular for several years. Just as the “MeToo” movement was starting in 2017 I convened a roundtable of five of the biggest names in the Valley (including Tracy Chou and Ellen Pao) for a candid conversation about the sexism they endured and the path forward.

Out at Work (Fast Company, 2017)

This digital package of 7 stories including an interview with Lena Waithe, first person accounts from military members during Don’t Ask Don’t Tell, LGBTQ public school teachers, and surveying 5,000+ professionals about experiences of being LGBTQ in the workplace.
